A young person, man or woman, who after adequate preparation and sincere dialogue of discernment, gives themselves in selfless service to Don Bosco’s mission for young people, with special attention to the poorest.
The Salesian Missionary Volunteer (SMV) strives to become a better person — an honest citizen and a good Christian — so that together with others they effectively help educate and evangelise young people. In this way, by personal example, service, as a friend and educator, the volunteer selflessly contributes to transforming society into a civilisation of love, spreading good among us.
